About Us

YETI - Youth Enhancement Through Inspiration

YETI was founded in 2012 by a group of professional social workers and their friends. Through their experience, YETI recognized the lacunae in the education system that it caters majorly to formal education, and not on personal and professional competencies.

Hence, the perils of falling into the pit of unemployment, maladjustment and unproductive younger years.

The need of the hour as YETI identified is holistic empowerment in rural and urban youth in terms of life skills, coping skills, strong emotional mental well being & vocational skills. YETI aims to bridge this patent gap by providing sustainable solutions with maximum impact on the lives of the youth.

Our Aim - Towards Preventive mental health initiatives

YETI aims to solve this problem with the following mission statement:

  • To help the youth with personal competencies that enable them to make informed choices.
  • To empower the youth with vocational skills that equip them in a globalised professional world.
  •  To provide them with physical , emotional and health related information that can help them choose better alternatives.
  • To impart life skills so as to develop confidence and positive attitudes.

Our training programmes are focused on the following aspects

  • Removing stigma in disusing issues related to mental heath, health & hygiene, catharsis, easy and accessible counseling, identifying red flags of mental illness.
  • Spoken, Functional English, Manners, Etiquette and Personal Grooming, Interpersonal/Communication Skills, Gender Sensitization, Peer Pressure Coping Mechanisms, Confidence Building
  • Career Counselling, Interview & Group Discussion Techniques

Our training is delivered through a plethora of projects and initiatives which have been taken up by us, either independently or by collaborating with other institutions. We function through a team of Flag bearers, Members and Foot Soldiers and continue to grow in an attempt to expand the outreach of our projects. We believe that the empowered youth is the thread required to transform the social fabric of our nation and YETI is simply an attempt in that direction.
